The British aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” has arrived at the port of Yokosuka in Japan, in preparation for the start of joint military exercises with several countries led by Japan and the United States of America to confirm freedom of navigation in the region.
This was reported by the Chinese newspaper, “South China Morning Post” on, Saturday, noting that the British Aircraft carrier arrived in Japan on its first visit to that country.
The newspaper pointed out that the arrival of the British aircraft carrier to Japan aims to demonstrate the joint military strength of the two countries to counter the growing military influence of China in the region.
The British aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” is scheduled to participate in military exercises with the United States, Japan, the Netherlands and Canada. Queen Elizabeth arrived at the US military base in Yokosuka and is scheduled to leave the region after participating in military exercises, next Thursday.
The newspaper pointed out that the goal of the joint military exercises led by Japan and the United States of America is to confirm the existence of a reliable military force in securing freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region.
