Erdogan sees himself as an Ally of Europe

“We expect the European Union to keep its promises, not to discriminate against us or at least not to become a tool for creating hostilities against our country,” the Turkish president said during a speech at a conference of the governing party AKP.

“We do not see ourselves anywhere but in Europe. We intend to build our future together with Europe. We want stronger cooperation with our friends and allies “, said Erdogan in a sudden crisis of friendliness after a period of intense effort to infuriate Europe against him and the Islamic world against Europe.

“We believe that we have no problem with any country or institution that can not be resolved through politics, diplomacy, and dialogue,” he said.

In addition, he said, Turkey would like to “actively use the old and close alliance with the United States to find a solution to regional and international problems.”
