Greece, Cyprus and Israel have signed a joint military action plan for the year 2022.

The plan further deepens the already close military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the three countries. It strengthens their role as supporting factors of peace, stability and security in the Mediterranean.

According to an announcement by the General Staff of National Defence of Greece, the Chief of Greek Army General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, had a meeting with the Director of the Strategy Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Israel Lieutenant Colonel Tal Kelman and the Director of the General Division of the General Staff of the National Guard Of Cyprus, Colonel Neophytos Pachoulidis, who both are in Greece as head of the Delegations of their Countries in the context of the signing of the “Joint Action Plan of Greece Cyprus – Israel “for the year 2022.

Greek Army General Konstantinos Floros thanked the Heads of the Delegations of Cyprus and Israel for their presence and pointed out the value of the continuous and enhanced military cooperation of the 3 countries promoted through the constructive dialogue and the actions that accompany it.

He pointed out that this relationship is beneficial for all parties and necessary for the wider region, as Greece, Israel and Cyprus play a decisive role in the security of the wider region, based on international law and good neighbourly rules.

The 2022 Joint Action Plan includes, among others, participation in joint and national exercises, cooperation in the field of cyber defence, exchange of visits to Armed Forces Schools, staff meetings at Branch level, training of Special Operations Forces and Search and Rescue departments and cooperation National Defense.

According to the announcement, the signing of the Joint Action Plan further deepens the already close military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the three countries in the framework of their defence coordination and strengthens the role of Greece, Cyprus and Israel as supporting factors of peace, stability and security and prosperity in the Mediterranean and beyond.
