“Greek” Black Hawk helicopters: Greece is one step closer to the deal

A meeting between Lockheed Martin representatives and Hellenic Air Force officials took place at the Air Force General Staff.

The Greek Ministry of National Defense announced for the meeting:

“On Monday, May 30, 2022, a meeting was held at the General Staff of the Hellenic Air Force (GAA) with the representatives of the company” Lockheed Martin “Mr. Konstantinos Papadopoulos (Vice President – Greece & Cyprus), Mr. Georgios Koutsogiannis (International Business Development Director for Middle East & Greece) and Mr. Spyridonas Papageorgiou (Consultant) with competent staff of Hellenic Air Force.

The purpose of the meeting was the presentation, on behalf of the company, of the Black Hawk helicopters” the annoucement concludes.

As we informed you, the Greek Defense Minister, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, had stated in the Greek Parliament at the beginning of last month that the ministry is negotiating with the United States the acquisition of Black Hawk helicopters.

“We are requesting US surplus material, Black Hawk helicopters and Island-class patrol vessels. We will also negotiate for more things that are now under study and discussion, and are part of the wider Greek-American discussion on defense, for which the General staffs are preparing a relevant proposal to the US,” the Greek Defense Minister stated.
