Sirens sounded recently in Israel as there was a rocket attack from Lebanon. In particular, three rockets were fired at Israel, one of which failed and fell inside Lebanon, while the other two hit Israeli territory.

In response, Israeli artillery shelled the entire border with Lebanon. The rockets hit the Kiryat Shemona area near the Israeli-Lebanese border. The sirens were immediately activated in the area to transport the citizens to the shelters.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said he and Defense Minister Benny Gantz had been briefed on developments and were overseeing the counterattack.

The strike most likely came in retaliation from Hezbollah for accusations against Iran of being behind an attack on an Israeli tanker a few days ago in the Gulf of Oman. Hezbollah is a Lebanese-based terrorist organization backed by Iran.
