Among the many producers of military vehicles at the DEFEA 2023 defense exhibition, the Italian Iveco Defense was also present, presenting vehicles that could significantly strengthen the Greek Army or any other international customer.
Specifically, during the exhibition, the company presented the IDV MUV light multi-role vehicle and the IDV M1250 heavy-duty truck.
IVECO’S IDV MUV 4×4
The IDV MUV is a high agility military vehicle that it can be used for reconnaissance, surveillance and border guarding.
In addition to that, despite its relatively small size, it can carry a significant number of personnel and equipment and is suitable for use in a logistics role.
Finally, the MUV also has a length of 5.7m, with a capacity of 8+2 people and with the ability to carry 3.7 tons worth of equimpment.
IVECO’S IDV M1250
The IVECO M1250.70T WM is a heavy-duty truck that can undertake a wide range of missions such as troop transport, unit supply and combat operations support, offering high crew safety thanks to its armour.
It is about 10 meters long and can carry a load weighing 25 tons. Also, using a 680 hp engine, it can reach a speed of 70 km per hour.
In short, this is a reliable platform that has been bought by Germany, Italy, Romania and Australia.
Iveco offers valuable vehicles that can also be used by other Security Forces, such as the Border Guard. In this case, their acquisition would give new capabilities to ES by replacing all of its obsolete trucks.
