The Greek Navy General Staff announced that “on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, the Indian Navy Frigate INS TABAR conducted PASSEX (Passing Exercise) co-training with the Greek “THEMISTOKLIS” Frigate in the maritime area southwest of Crete.
During PASSEX, communications objects, advanced manoeuvres and helicopter cooperation were performed.
This co-training took place within the framework of the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces in agreement with the planning of OHIM and contributed to the promotion of the level of operational readiness, combat capability and cooperation of the participants in a bilateral context.”
This co-training exercise shows that New Delhi is really interested in the Eastern Mediterranean region and wants to deepen its relations between Greece and India against Turkey and Pakistan.
Relations with India as we have mentioned before are vital for Greece as a key to providing nuclear know-how that may be useful as a counterweight to the possible provision of corresponding nuclear know-how by Pakistan to Turkey.
