North Korea launch a Mach 10 MaRV Hypersonic missile

Pyongyang (North Korea) has been hard at work since the start of the year on hypersonic missiles as on January 11th, a hypersonic (probably MaRV) missile with a top speed of Mach 10 was launched in a second missile test since last week.

Analysts estimate that a North Korean Mach 10 MaRV hypersonic ballistic missile carrying a nuclear warhead would reach its target in less than a minute.

As of 7:27 a.m. on Thursday, the General Staff of South Korean Armed Forces reported that North Korea had launched a projectile into the eastern sea near Jagang province that was suspected to be a ballistic missile.

A speed of Mach 10 was observed in addition to a flying distance of more than 700 kilometres.

Based on the analysis that we mention a “preemptive strike” was also backed by South Korean Politician Yoon Seok-Yeol that currently runs his campaign for the presidency of the Republic of Korea.

North Korea launched a ballistic missile carrying a manoeuvrable re-entry vehicle (MARV) on September 5 from the Jagang region after the successful test launch of the hypersonic glide carrier (HGV) type “Hwasong-8” in September last year that had a speed of Mach 6.

According to the United Nations, even at that point, North Korea claimed to have fired a “hypersonic missile” towards a target 700 kilometres away from the Korean peninsula.

China and Russia both maintain a hypersonic missiles arsenal that can reach speeds of up to Mach 10 and South Korea & Japan claim that such missiles are detectable by their military forces.

However, most analysts and scientists believe that missiles launched against targets at such speeds cannot be currently easily intercepted.
