The Central Military District of the Russian Army announced today, the transfer of Su-25 attack fighters from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan in order to participate in exercises that will take place near the border with Afghanistan.

“Su-25s have been transferred from the airport of the Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan to the “Gisar” airport in Tajikistan to participate in the trilateral exercises that will take place from August 5 to 10 in the Khatlonsk region,” the Central Military District said in a statement.

Military personnel from Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the exercises.
As part of the exercises, the Su-25 crews will carry out missions to search for camouflaged bases of a hypothetical enemy, and launch missile and bomb strikes on targets.

In addition, attack aircraft will provide air support to mechanized forces and tank units during the destruction of illegal armed formations in mountainous desert areas.
