Putin has no plans to meet Turkish President Erdogan

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Kremlin, dismissed rumors that Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, was planning to travel to Ankara to meet with Turkish President Erdogan.

Putin and Erdogan have worked together and strengthened their partnership, despite regional differences which has helped to keep the tensions and competition under control, making this so-called “partnership” a problem for NATO.

At the beginning of May, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters that he was going to meet Putin “in the coming days,” information began to circulate on news that the two leaders were going to meet “soon.”

This comes at a time when Erdogan is trying to present himself as a significant diplomatic player and a potential peacemaker in the conflict that is involving Russia and Ukraine.

We remind you that Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, declared on Friday that it was impossible for Turkey, which is a member of NATO, to view favorably the ambitions that Sweden and Finland had to join the pact.
