RESEARCH VESSELS GATHERING IN AEGEAN

The Greek Research vessel “AEGAEO” of the Hellenic Center for Marine Research seemed during Monday to be moving towards Rhodes probably aiming to launch new marine research.

According to the Hellenic Center for Marine Research, the ship “AEGAEO” was built at the Shipyards of Chalkida and was launched in December 1985. It is a multi-purpose research vessel and can undertake and carry out all types of research work, such as Natural Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Hydrobiology, Chemical Oceanography, Underwater Geology and Geophysics as well as technical work.

We remind that Greece has already leased the research ship “NAUTICAL GEO” with Cyprus and Israel, which is continuing its research east of Crete to lay the foundations of the EAST MED pipeline, despite the hollow reactions of Turkey.

The Turkish research vessel YUNUS-S has moored in the port of Kas, opposite the Greek island Kastellorizo ​​and it might be used in moves of impression from Turkey as “AEGAEO” is sailing near the island of Rhodes.
