Scientists from the Russian Federal Nuclear Center at the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics have developed a new trap for enemy drones.

The projectile was patented at the end of October 2021 and now the Russian experts are preparing for the manufacture and preliminary testing of this so-called “drone trap”.

The system consists of a missile with a guidance unit. The shell contains a set of modules. Each contains explosives and submunitions.

When the projectile approaches the target, a net is released with the Russian “drone hunter” capturing the target and lowering it to the ground without destroying it. This allows specialists to obtain a completely healthy and undamaged enemy drone for study.
