According to the Turkish Foreign Minister, Turkey has no intention of participating in international sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

“We have no intention of participating in these sanctions,” Mevlüt Cavusoglu told Turkish Haberturk TV channel and added that:

“Russia has accepted our request,” to withdraw its demands for the passage of Russian warships not belonging to the Black Sea Fleet through the Bosporus straits.

It remains to be seen what the attitude will be of the USA and NATO towards this Turkish move, which was confirmed in an interview by Ibrahim Kalin.

We remind you that Mevlüt Cavusoglu stated, “Turkey will not allow warships to cross the straits, and warned all coastal and non-coastal countries to not do so.”
