URGENT: Azerbaijani troops opened fire into Armenian territory - GEOPOLITIKI.COM

Armenia’s Defense Ministry informed a serious incident took place today on the border with Azerbaijan when Azerbaijani troops who had crossed the border fired in the air.

Several dozens of shots were fired around 3 p.m., possibly in the air. After that, the Armenian army units responded with warning shots.

The Azerbaijani commander contacted the Armenian units directly and asked to stop the fire, apologizing for the border violation and explaining that the Azerbaijani shots were fired by mistake.

The Armenian Armed Forces are officially warning Azerbaijan that the resumption of such incidents would be seen as a deliberate attempt at confrontation in the region and would lead to escalating actions by the Armenian side,” Armenia’s Defense Ministry stated.
