Armenia hopes to sign an agreement soon with Iran on the “Persian Gulf – Black Sea” project, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a joint press conference with Indian counterpart Shuban Ayman on Wednesday as Armenia & Iran seek closer cooperation between them.
The corridor for the trade connection of the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea is a huge project that aims to include Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria and Greece, with the main goal of the mass movement of goods.
“A very dynamic process is underway” I hope that in the near future we will sign an agreement for this project,” said the Armenian minister.
However, apart from trade cooperation with Iran, it seems that Iran and Armenia are also cooperating against terrorism, sending a clear message to Turkey and Azerbaijan.
This information is confirmed as the Attorney General of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri after a meeting with the Attorney General of Armenia Arthur Davtyan in Yerevan stated:
“Armenia and Iran are aware of the presence of terrorists on our borders and must not continue under any circumstances. We maintain good neighbourly relations with our neighbours, we hope they will understand Iran’s position before the problem escalates further. The terrorists must disappear as soon as possible. We can take decisive steps, but I hope that before that the neighbouring countries will start resolving this issue themselves. “
