“ERDOGAN RESIGN” – Turks demonstrated in Trabzon

The residents of Trabzon in Turkey took to the streets to protest Erdogan’s economic policy. The Turks flooded the streets of the city holding empty pots and pans and asking the government to resign.

According to the Turkish newspaper, Arti Gercek, the city’s police forces tried unsuccessfully to stop the protesters, who met on Uzun Street and normally marched to Meydan Park in Trebizond.

“This is the voice of the poor. This is the sound of empty pots and pans. Merchants’ debts have accumulated in the pandemic. No one asks how these merchants will pay the rent. No one asks how the student will live with these loans.

No one asks how these workers will make it to the end of the month with the minimum wage. No one asks how these officers will make it to the end of the month. We are sentenced to death, neither do we live nor die. That’s not an order, it’s not a system. We do not intend to eat bread with onions and keep quiet. This cannot continue.” the protesters stated.
