Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he fired two top Ukrainian officials, whom he called “traitors.”
In a statement Thursday night, Zelenskyy announced that the chief of the Ukrainian intelligence service (SBU), Andriy Olehovych Naumov, and the director of the Kherson service, Serhiy Oleksandrovych Kryvoruchko, had been fired from their offices.
“Now I do not have time to deal with all the traitors,” Zelenskyy told officials. “However, everyone will be punished in time,” he added.

“These military officers, among senior officers who have not decided what their homeland is, who violate the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people for the protection of our state, its freedom, and independence, will inevitably be deprived of higher military ranks,” he said.
“Random generals have no place here!” clarified the Ukrainian President.
Zelenskyy did not specify what the actions of the officials were that prompted him to fire them.
The SBU is the main security service in Ukraine and one of its main roles is counterintelligence.
