Athens has recalled its ambassador to Azerbaijan after what it said were “unfounded and offensive” claims by the Azeri authorities that Greece tolerated militants on its soil, Greek state media reported on Wednesday.

According to the Greek Foreign Ministry, a protest letter was sent to Azerbaijan’s ambassador in Athens. It stated that the Greek ambassador to Azerbaijan had been summoned to Athens for consultations.
