C-27J Spartan: Leonardo awarded €552,000 contract for Greek crew simulator training
A €552,000 implementing contract awards Leonardo recurrent C-27J simulator training for 12 Greek crews. Issued in August, the decision was posted on October 6.
The Hellenic Air Force’s Air Support Command has awarded Leonardo S.p.A. the first implementing contract for recurrent C-27J Spartan flight simulator training. The decision was issued on August 27, 2026 and posted on Diavgeia on October 6.

Worth €552,000, the contract covers 12 crews. Each crew is to complete two four-hour simulator sessions per half-year. At €2,875 per training hour, two annual training cycles for those crews amount to the stated €552,000 annual cost.
The award falls under framework agreement 77/25, a four-year arrangement worth €4,232,000. Leonardo was selected through tender 27/24. The requirement was approved in November 2024 and provides for training through a certified provider abroad; the award decision does not name the training location. The framework agreement was drawn up to cover 23 C-27J crews.
The implementing contract became public days after KYSEA approved technical support and upgrading for the C-27J fleet. The simulator award concerns recurrent crew training under the separate framework agreement.
