An explosion occurred just outside the main entrance to Kabul airport in Afghanistan.
International agencies say it was confirmed to be a suicide bombing attack. Although the death toll has not been known so far, reporters from the site of the explosion say that both the dead and the injured are very many.
According to the data so far, most of the dead and wounded appear to be Afghans and among them have been identified and a number of Americans.
Many countries were today warning their citizens to avoid the gates of the airport as there were reports that a bombing was being prepared.
For days now, thousands of Afghans and citizens of other states have gathered at Kabul airport to try to escape from the country that the Taliban have now occupied.
At the time of the attack there were many people at this point of the airport waiting either to get a VISA or to board one of the planes that are constantly arriving, fleeing citizens of other states and Afghans who cooperated with the forces of America and other states.
As the deadline that the Americans themselves have set for August 31 is approaching, many countries have already said they have completed civilian transfers and have begun withdrawing their troops.
