A new meeting about the Israeli OPAL system took place on Monday at the Hellenic Air Force General Staff according to the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense, as the interest from the Greek side seems to have increased a lot.
Specifically, according to an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior:
“On Monday, July 25, 2022, a meeting with the representative of the company “IAI Ltd”, Mr. Ariel Avrech (Marketing Director), was held at the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.
The purpose of the meeting was to present, on behalf of the company, the capabilities of the Operational Avionics Layer (OPAL) system it manufactures” the announcement concludes.
OPAL is a system which main purpose is to support network connectivity, data exchange and coordination of all operational actions for air, ground and naval forces.
The system was presented again a few months ago at the Hellenic Air Force General Staff and this shows that the country really wants to further consider its possible supply.
Specifically, “On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, an online meeting of the representatives of the company “Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd”, Mr. Noam Shani (Director, Corporate Marketing – Europe) and Mr. Ariel Avrech (Marketing Director) was held with staff from the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the capabilities of the Universal Link System (ULS) and Operational Avionics Layer (OPAL) products manufactured by the company” the Greek Ministry of Defense had stated.
