Russia deployed forces near Afghanistan’s border with Tajikistan on Tuesday as it prepares for military drills next month.
T-72 tanks from Russia’s military base in Tajikistan have moved very close to the border with Afghanistan. This move comes ahead of a military exercise between Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan that is going to take place in August, Russian media reported.

The withdrawal of the American forces, that have stayed in Afghanistan for almost 20 years, has resulted in the taking over of half of the country’s control by the Taliban in a very short period of time.
