According to the SANA news agency, Syria’s air defense intercepted a barrage of Israeli missiles aimed toward the capital Damascus.
The interception seems that caused some material damage on Monday, but no specific information has been given. Israel, which has launched hundreds of attacks in Syria since the war began in 2011, has refused to comment.
“At 3:05 am today, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial assault with a volley of missiles… targeting some points on the outskirts of Damascus. Our air defenses responded to the attack and intercepted some,” the Syrian news agency stated.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)…
The assaults targeted military installations and a weapons stockpile connected to Hezbollah.
“Sites operated by the Lebanese Hezbollah group… in the east Qalamoun region, northeast of Damascus, were hit by Israeli strikes at dawn,” SOHR stated.
The attack ignited fires “in military outposts and arms depots belonging to Hezbollah” according to the war monitor, who relies on local sources.
