The General Staff of Cyprus’ National Guard officially announced that from September 1, 2021, the special forces of Cyprus and Egypt are conducting a small-scale exercise named “PTOLEMAIOS 2021” in Cyprus.
During the first week of the special operations exercise, Special Forces teams from the Republic of Cyprus and the Arab Republic of Egypt are jointly training in complex special operations items with photographs released by the General Staff of the National Guard (GSNG) showing the excellent level of cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt.
The GSNG announced:
“During the first week of the exercise, the participating personnel fired adaptation shots with various weapons, sniper precision shots and attended training in First Aid items on the battlefield. In addition, the Special Operations Teams participate in urban warfare training, while the Management and Control Teams started the planning process for the final phase of the exercise.
From the beginning of the exercise, the high level of training and operational capabilities of the participating staff emerged, as well as the opportunity to enhance interoperability.”
