While speaking on Russian state television, Russian journalist Margarita Simonyan made derogatory comments about the United States of America and compared its citizens to mentally handicapped children.
The editor-in-chief of Russia Today (RT) stated that she was able to reach this verdict at an early age, when she was studying in the United States.
Julia Davis, columnist of the american website “The Daily Beast” shared the video on her Twitter commenting:
“Tonight on Russian state TV, head of RT Margarita Simonyan revisited one of her favorite topics: “stupid Americans.” Yet again, Simonyan reiterated how little she thought of Americans and their intellectual abilities ever since the time she studied in the United States. P.S. Instead of “disabled,” she used the R-word, but I didn’t want to include that in my video.”
In the video, Margarita Simonyan, is saying during a TV show:
“They [Americans] are like little children, they don’t believe anything they don’t want to believe, like little children. They’re trapped in the world of their own fantasies. Recently, I was re-reading old letters that I sent to my parents when I was studying in America.
I wrote to my parents: ‘I have a feeling that America is not a country, but a kindergarten for mentally disabled children’. Even at the age of 15 I had already understood that”.
