The IDF warned residents of the al-Jala’a tower in Gaza city centre to evacuate the building immediately, as it is to be demolished by Israeli air force aircraft.
The building at 3:00 p.m. was hit on the roof by a drone as a warning shot and at 3:15 was bombed by Israeli aircraft.
The building was home to international media such as Al-Jazeera, the BBC and the AP. It is noted that Al-Jazeera is a pro-Turkish network based in Qatar and has often taken a stand against Greece and Cyprus.
Israel probably proceeded to bomb the building so that this media footage from Gaza would not be broadcast and might want to force them out of the Gaza Strip.
Al Jazeera’s Safwat al-Kahlout, reporting from Gaza City, said a resident of the building received a call from the Israeli army warning of the impending attack about an hour before it was hit.
