Two Turkish F-16s just before 4 p.m., according to the Cyprus News Agency, provocatively violated the Nicosia FIR, near Famagusta & in areas of the UN buffer zone.

According to a source of the Ministry of Defence of Cyprus, the Turkish F-16s entered the FIR Nicosia at 3:30 p.m. and left it at 16:05. The Republic of Cyprus immediately denounced the violation as it does every year.

Turkey, whenever the anniversary of the invasion approaches, chooses to violate the National Airspace of Cyprus in a supposed preparation of the parade in occupied areas where Turkish F-16s will parade this year.

It is recalled that Turkey has raised the tension in recent days with Erdogan arriving on the island tomorrow to announce some “good news” as he describes it with Cypriot analysts expecting an illegal opening of the occupied Ghost-town of Varosha.
