The United States of America (US) announced the visit of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the White House as a confirmation of the strong cooperation between Greece and the USA.
The White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for the bilateral meeting of President Joe Biden with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece announced:
“President Biden is looking forward to receiving the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the White House on May 16, 2022. The visit of the Prime Minister provides the opportunity to confirm our strong bilateral cooperation and to celebrate the 201 years of Greek independence.
The leaders will discuss ongoing efforts with the Allies and partners to support the people of Ukraine and impose economic costs on Russia for its unprovoked aggression.
They will discuss our close cooperation on global challenges, including climate change and energy security. The leaders will take stock of our common efforts to promote global security through NATO, as well as our common goals for peace and prosperity in the region.
They will also celebrate the history, democratic values , and trade and investment ties that have united our peoples and countries for generations,” the White House said in a statement
