Intense battles in Nagorno Karabakh – Azerbaijani forces attack villages

At 8:40 a.m. on December 11, Azeri special forces launched an attack on the Nagorno Karabakh – Azerbaijan contact line in the area of Hin Taghlar and Khtsaberd villages in the Hadrut region of Nagorno-Karabakh, taking advantage of the fact that Russian peacekeepers were not developed in this region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

Six Armenian soldiers were wounded in the attack. Azerbaijani forces continued their provocative actions today in the direction of the villages of Metz Sen and Hin Sen, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“While strongly condemning this blatant violation of the commitments of the Supreme Military-Political Leadership of Azerbaijan in the context of the tripartite declaration on the cessation of hostilities and the development of Russian peacekeeping forces, we emphasize that the above-mentioned actions aimed at underestimating the presence of the Russian Federation peacekeeping forces in the conflict zone.

The Azerbaijani side, while adhering to its traditional behavior, undertook this provocation amid the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to the region.

In fact, this provocation to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs is a continuation of the belligerent and unacceptable statements made by the leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan to the Armenian people during the recent parade in Baku.

Such behavior demonstrates once again Turkey-Azerbaijan expansive policy, which continues to undermine regional security and stability and threatens to expand into neighboring regions.

These actions by Baku further highlight the urgent need to eliminate the consequences of the recent Azerbaijani invasion, including the liberation of the Azerbaijani-occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh and the return of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to their places of residence.

In view of the impunity for Azerbaijan’s violations of its international obligations through the use of force and the consequences of such actions, we call on the countries of the OSCE Minsk Group to address Azerbaijan’s actions unequivocally and clearly with the aim of violating the ceasefire regime, exercising political ethnic cleansing, and occupying Armenian settlements,” the Armenian statement concludes. ” the Armenian statement concludes.
