The confrontation between Israel and Hamas escalated on Tuesday as the terrorist organisation barraged Israel with hundreds of rockets and Israel conducted new airstrikes on Gaza. The exchange killed a number of militants and civilians in Gaza and at least three people in Israel.
The barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip and the Israeli airstrikes started on Monday and continued almost non stop until now.
While the first rocket attacks were targeting only Jerusalem, by Tuesday, the rocket attacks extended to Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities climaxing with a rocket rain that was targeting the whole state of Israel that Hamas launched in response to Israel’s destruction of a high-rise building in Gaza earlier in the evening, that was said to be the organisation’s headquarters.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a nationally televised speech late Tuesday said Hamas “have paid, and will pay, a heavy price.”
“This campaign will take time, with determination, unity and strength,” he mentioned.
