At dawn on Saturday, Israeli fighter jets launched raids on targets in the Gaza Strip.
“Our fighter jets targeted a camp and a rocket launch point in Gaza, in response to the launching of incendiary balloons from the Strip,” Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee said.
The news comes as Israeli firefighting crews said that they saw the incendiary balloons launched from the Gaza Strip that caused fires in Israeli communities.
The ambulance crews stated that 4 fires broke out on Friday afternoon, including 3 in the Kissufim Forest and the fourth in the Beeri Forest, all close to the borders of the Gaza Strip, due to incendiary balloons coming from the Strip
No Palestinian party has claimed responsibility for launching the incendiary balloons.
Last June, the Palestinian factions decided to stop launching incendiary balloons towards Israel, to give Egyptian efforts a chance to succeed in reopening the crossings.
