On Saturday evening, the Kingdom of Jordan announced the temporary closure of the Jaber border crossing with Syria, in front of the movement of goods and passengers.
The Jordanian Ministry of Interior said that the closure of the Jaber crossing came as a result of the developments in the security situation on the Syrian side.
The ministry confirmed, in a statement, that the crossing will be reopened as soon as the appropriate conditions are available. At the beginning of July, the Jordanian government opened the crossing with Syria at full capacity for the movement of people and freight.
