Ukraine announced on Monday that its troops in Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city, had defeated Russian forces and advanced to the border with Russia.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published a video showing Ukrainian troops on the border of the country. In the post the ministry wrote:
“The 227th Battalion of the 127th Army Brigade in Kharkiv drove out the Russians and entered the state border area. Together for victory!”
The announcement of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense was confirmed by the governor of Kharkiv Oleh Synyehubov in a post on Telegram.
“We thank all those who risked their lives to liberate Ukraine from the Russian invaders,” Synyehubov wrote.
According to information broadcast by Ukrainian media, the fighting north of Kharkiv continues, with the Ukrainian army trying to expand to other parts of the border.
