Ukraine’s General Staff reports 177 clashes and 36 Russian attacks on the Pokrovsk front, and claims strikes on Russian radars and command posts
Ukraine’s General Staff says its forces stopped 36 Russian attacks on the Pokrovsk front among 177 clashes over the past day, and claims hits on Russian radars and command posts.
Ukraine’s General Staff said on 26 October that there were 177 combat clashes along the front over the past day, in its morning report with information as of 08:00. According to the report as relayed by the Ukrainian outlet Ukrainska Pravda, the heaviest pressure was on the Pokrovsk front, where the General Staff said Ukrainian defenders stopped 36 Russian attacks. The account is Ukraine’s; the report relayed here does not include a Russian version of the same fighting.
Pokrovsk, Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka
On the Pokrovsk front the General Staff said Russian troops attacked in the areas of Serhiivka and Molodetske and pressed toward about ten other settlements, among them Nadiia, Novopavlivka and Hulove. On the Huliaipole front it counted 13 attacks, near Uspenske, Rizdvianka, Dolynka, Hirke and Yehorivka. On the Kostiantynivka front it counted 12, near Raiske, Mykolaipillia, Dovha Balka, Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka and Novoselivka.
Smaller numbers were reported elsewhere: eight attacks on the South Slobozhanshchyna front, eight on the Lyman front, three on the North Slobozhanshchyna front and one on the Kramatorsk front. The General Staff said there were no offensive operations on the Kupiansk, Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv and Prydniprovske fronts, and no sign of Russian offensive groups forming on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.
Ukrainian strike claims
In its report published on 25 October, as relayed by the state news agency Ukrinform, the General Staff said Ukrainian forces had struck Russian radar stations near Gostishchevo and Kurganne in Russia’s Belgorod region. It said a command post of a Russian unit was destroyed near Tarasivka in the Zaporizhzhia region and that a command and observation post was destroyed near Hola Prystan in the Kherson region. It also listed strikes on Russian troop concentrations near Mykolaivka and Novoukrainka in the Donetsk region, and in the areas of Berdiansk, Okhrimivka and Tarasivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
These are claims by one party to the war. They have not been confirmed by an independent body, and the Russian defence ministry’s account of the same incidents was not available in the sources read for this report.
The General Staff’s daily count of clashes changes from report to report depending on the cut-off time: its figure for the day to 25 October was 193 clashes, according to Ukrainian outlets quoting the same source.
