MISSING PILOT OF INDIAN MIG29K FOUND 70 METERS BELOW WATER

Indian Navy officials announced:

“Indian Navy has recovered the body of the missing MiG-29K pilot Commander Nishant Singh on the seabed 70 meters below water. It has been found 30 miles off Goa coast after an extensive search. The aircraft had crashed on November 26 while operating over the Arabian Sea.”

The MIG-29K operating from the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya at the Arabian Sea crashed on November 26. One of the pilots was recovered on the day of the crash while the other was missing ever since.

The Indian Navy has a fleet of 45 MiG-29Ks from Russia over a decade back to operate from INS Vikramaditya.

The Mikoyan MiG-29K is a Russian all-weather carrier-based multirole fighter aircraft developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau. The MiG-29K was developed in the late 1980s from the MiG-29M. Mikoyan describes it as a 4+ generation aircraft.
