NEW USE OF THE TURKISH LIRA: Israeli used banknote as a tissue

An Israeli man was deported from Turkey after sharing on the internet a video of him blowing his nose at a banknote.

According to Turkish media, Mohamad Nader Badarneh, an Arab citizen of Israel, was seen blowing his nose at a restaurant in Constantinople using instead of a tissue, a 20-Turkish lira bill.

The next day he got arrested by Turkish police on charges of insulting state symbols and then got deported.

Turkish media say the Israeli did that aiming to mock the Turkish economy, which recently is only getting worse, with the Turkish lira now having a huge gap against the US dollar and the euro. It is noted that the 20 Turkish liras note that man used is now worth less than 2 euros.
