Russia’s foreign minister has warned that the conflict in Ukraine is on the verge of escalating into a third world war and that the possibility of a nuclear war should not be underestimated.
In particular, Lavrov, in an interview with a Russian television station, said that the threat of a nuclear conflict should not be underestimated and that the core of any agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine would be greatly affected by military developments.

The interview was broadcasted a few hours after US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken and US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv and pledged to provide further military assistance to the Ukrainian government and army. Lloyd Austin has pledged to arm Ukraine, even more, to help it in its fight against Russia.
This week, the United States will host a meeting of more than 40 countries for talks on Ukraine’s defense, aimed at increasing the number of weapons being sent to the country.

Russia, according to Lavrov, is making significant efforts to defend the effort to prevent a nuclear war at all costs. “This is our fundamental position, on which everything is built. “The risks are great at the moment,” Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said.
“I do not want to increase these risks artificially. Many would like it. The danger is serious, real. And we should not underestimate it, “he added.
