Ukraine’s MFA: “We want Turkey to guarantee our security”

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, said on Thursday that his country wanted Turkey to be among the countries that would provide security guarantees to Ukraine as part of any agreement with Russia to end the war.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister made the statements immediately after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

According to REUTERS, when asked by reporters about the meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Kuleba said that Turkey also helps to establish direct talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

We remind that the Russian Foreign Minister stated on Wednesday that the two sides are close to reaching a possible peace deal.
