United States officially backed Greece against Turkish violations by the American Secretary of State Antony Blinken
speaking to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House.
“We have been watching with real concern over the last year and especially in recent times since we took over the administration, some of the actions that are taking place in the Eastern Mediterranean – particularly by Turkey
– in terms of its various claims and it is very important that the US stands up and is involved in promoting the stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all parties in the Eastern Mediterranean” said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
“And i insist that any disputes that arise must be resolved peacefully, diplomatically, not militarily, not through provocative actions.
We have condemned actions, including Turkey, that violate international law and its commitments as a NATO ally on the S-400 issue and include provocative actions against Greece – such as airspace violations,” Blinked added.
Blinken remarks have raised the tensions with Turkey & there are high chances that the Turkish government will reply to Blinken statements in the following days.
