A Turkish air force NF-5 fighter jet crashed On Wednesday in the central province of Ikonio, the pilot died, Turkish newspaper Sabah reported.
According to the newspaper, the fighter jet crashed during a training flight. It was part of the Turkish air force’s “Turkish stars” acrobatic team.
The “Turkish Stars” are the Turkish air force’s acrobatic demonstration team and Turkey’s national team. The group was founded on 7 November 1992 and was named “Turkish Stars” on 11 January 1993.
The “Turkish stars” fly with eight NF-5 fighter jets and are one of the few national acrobatic teams flying these aircraft.
The team is based in Ikonio Air Base.
