Wagner in Belarus
It’s imperative to recall that Wagner had transferred a significant contingent of its fighters to Belarus for a significant reason.
The rebellion of Wagner against the Russian Armed Forces just on the outskirts of Moscow, culminated as we previously reported, with the intervention of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. Wagner’s relocation seemed akin to a form of expulsion from Russia, potentially to evade retribution for their deeds, which even encompassed the seizure of the city of Rostov.

This brings us to the heart of our research, as a serendipitous turn of events unfolded.
On August 21, the U.S. Embassy issued an urgent advisory, urging American citizens to promptly leave Belarus and refrain from any travel plans to the nation. This advice, reminiscent of pre-invasion alerts before Russia’s annexation of Crimea, which Russia consistently denied, raises the suspicion that U.S. intelligence agencies could have had insights into a conspiracy against Wagner.
Not even 48 hours later, on August 23, an aircraft carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin and Wagner’s second-in-command, Dmitry Utkin, inexplicably crashed north of Moscow. Russian aviation authorities expeditiously confirmed Prigozhin’s presence on the ill-fated flight. The Russian state news agency RIA reported that at the crash site, an investigation was underway, unearthing eight fatalities as well as the mobile device of Wagner’s leader.
In a meticulously worded statement, U.S. President Joe Biden implied potential involvement of Vladimir Putin in the aviation mishap that led to Prigozhin’s demise.
Although not explicitly leveling accusations, he intimated that it’s a rarity for such incidents to occur in Russia without Putin’s influence. The precise cause of the crash remains undisclosed at this juncture. However, Prigozhin’s history of confrontations with Russian military authorities, coupled with his role in the recent June insurrection, have sparked conjecture about motives that conceivably culminated in his potential assassination.
