Ukraine has denied the allegations in a statement issued on Friday for the attack in Belgorod by “Ukrainian Mi-24 Helicopters”.
The Russian Defense Ministry officially blamed Kyiv for the attack, saying that the Ukrainians flew to Russia with attack helicopters flying at a low altitude and struck a fuel plant in the early hours of Friday.
In fact, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the attack could jeopardize peace talks.
Ukraine’s Secretary of National Defense and Security Oleksiy Danilov has denied that the Ukrainian army was involved in the Belgorod incident.
“For some reason, they say we did it, but according to our information it does not correspond to reality,” Danilov said.

Earlier, the representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Oleksandr Motuzyanyk also commented on the incident, but without denying or confirming it.
“Ukraine is currently conducting defense operations against Russian aggression on Ukrainian territory and this does not mean that Ukraine is responsible for any disaster on Russian territory,” the ministry spokesman said.
“He says it does not help the conversations, but it helps the conversations when they kill our children, our women – these injustices they are committing in our land? “These people are a bit sick,” Motuzyanyk added on the attack on Belgorod.
