British Army plans to upgrade its multiple rocket launchers after a British Army press release said that came to an agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense, for a five-year program to modernize its M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).
Further details about the agreement were given in a media release of the British Armed Forces, to announce the upgrades that will be made to 44 launchers, which are currently in service.
The new upgrades will include a new armored cab and upgraded automotive and launch mechanism components.
The 44 launchers will also be armed and ready to fire the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) that US operates which has a range of 499km and is expected in-service from 2024.
