Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias welcomed Wang Yi his Chinese counterpart at the Greek Foreign Ministry in Athens to hold extended talks between the Chinese and Greek delegations.
According to the Greek Foreign Ministry, the discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation with China, mainly in trade, investment, culture & tourism.
However, apart from the economic aspect of the talks, geopolitics was also on the table, as the Foreign Minister announces that the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus, the Middle East & North Africa will be discussed.
China and Greece maintain excellent relations framed by economic agreements with the example of COSCO’s investment in Piraeus port but also by diplomatic ties with China clearly supporting Greece in the Aegean and Cyprus.
