“We have started negotiations with our Greek counterparts for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in our country,” said Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Asen Vasilev.
Vasilev also said that Bulgaria has requested access to the Greek port of Alexandroupolis.
“We have started negotiations with our Greek colleagues for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in our country, which will be used by Greece with a long-term, 20-year contract. We will act extremely fast, provided there is a buyer for this electricity.
We are already participating in the Liquefied Gas terminal in Alexandroupolis. “We are in talks with our southern neighbours and we have their support to participate in the port itself so that we have commercial access to the Aegean,” the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance said in an interview.
The Bulgarian politician also pointed out that Russia could cut off gas supplies to Europe and that the nuclear power plant could help deal with an energy crisis.
