The Greek Minister of Defense, Nikos Panayotopoulos, recently announced that he had met with Benny Gantz, Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, who served as Minister of Defense of the Netanyahu government and now participates in the new government of Israel.
“I had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Israel, Benny Gantz, to congratulate him on his participation in the new Israeli Government.
“I wished to continue our cooperation to strengthen the strategic relationship between Greece and Israel in the defence sector,” the Greek minister wrote on his Twitter account.
“Greek-Israeli relations reaffirm our countries’ commitment to peace, security, stability and respect for international law, values that are also embraced by other Eastern Mediterranean countries,” he added.
