The American Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a meeting with the chief of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, and the Israeli ambassador to Washington on Thursday over Israel’s “deep concern” related to Iran’s nuclear activities, Reuters reported.
The meeting among Blinken, Mossad chief Yossi Cohen and Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan lasted two hours.
During the meeting in D.C., Yossi Cohen mentioned that Israeli Air Force’s planes “can reach everywhere in the Middle East – and certainly Iran,” warning that “a bad deal will send the region spiraling into war. Anyone seeking short-term benefits should be mindful of the longer term. Israel will not allow Iran to attain nuclear arms. Iran has no immunity anywhere”.
Thursday’s meeting followed talks earlier this week between the US National security adviser Jake Sullivan and his Israeli counterpart, in which the Israeli delegation stressed their “freedom to operate” against Iran.
