Intracom Defense: Greek hybrid power systems tested in US Army exercises, a wrap-up of AUSA 2026

Greece’s Intracom Defense reported on its AUSA 2026 participation in Washington, stressing operational validation of its HEPS hybrid power systems in US Army exercises, where they powered mobile NGC2 command nodes.

Greece’s Intracom Defense (IDE) has taken stock of its participation in AUSA 2026. In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 27, the Greek company says that at the Washington exhibition, held October 12-14, it presented two product lines: secure tactical communications and information systems, and the HEPS hybrid power systems. The emphasis was on the operational validation of the latter in US Army exercises and tests.

Power for NGC2 command nodes

This year IDE took part in US Army exercises and tests under the Transformation In Contact (TIC) programme, with which the US Army tests, adapts and scales new capabilities for modern warfare. In the Project Convergence Capstone 6 activity, working with the 4th Infantry Division, the company’s hybrid tactical generator and the GENAIRCON SAPS vehicle power system powered mobile nodes of the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) system.

The company writes that the systems gave the nodes enhanced operational autonomy, resilient power and an assured silent-operation capability, and reduced the logistical burden in contested environments. On the screen of the Greek pavilion was the Hybrid GENAIRCON, marked with an extended “True Silent Watch” capability.

Visits from the Army General Staff and the armaments directorate

During the exhibition, commercial director Efstathios Karagiannis and other executives received the Greek ambassador to the US, Antonios Alexandridis, the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lt. Gen. Andreas Koronakis, and the Director General of the General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA), Maj. Gen. Ioannis Bouras, as well as representatives of official foreign delegations and members of the international defence ecosystem. The Greek pavilion was organised by the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence and with the support of Enterprise Greece.

“IDE’s presence in the United States aims to strengthen cooperation with leading American aerospace and defence companies and to take advantage of the operational evaluation of our technologies together with the US Army,” Karagiannis said. He added that the effort is part of the company’s international growth strategy, with emphasis on the US and other NATO markets.

IDE, which recently formed a new board of directors, designs and manufactures its products in Greece. Exports have accounted for more than 90% of its annual turnover for a number of years, and the company says it is consolidating its position in the American defence market and seeking new opportunities for international growth.
