The Russian frigate “Admiral Golovko” soon to begin sea trials

The General Director of the Severnaya Verf shipyard, Igor Orlov, speaking to journalists, said that the Project 22350 frigate, Admiral Golovko, will begin sea trials in mid-2022.

“We believe that the frigate will enter the phase of sea trials in the middle of next year,” Orlov said.

According to Russia, project 22350 frigates are designed to perform a wide range of tasks, including the destruction of other ships, convoys, landing teams, search and destruction of submarines and ground targets, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and missile defense, joint work with amphibious assault forces, patrol service and protection of state borders.

The frigate’s displacement is 5,000 tons, the speed 29 knots, and has a cruising range 4,500 miles, autonomous driving of 30 days, and a 170-members crew.
