“Business Insider,” said that the United States of America is strengthening its positions in the most critical strategic region where competition between the United States and Russia and China escalates from year to year.

The newspaper said that during the Cold War, the United States was interested in organizing air defence in Alaska, where fighter jets and early warning radars were deployed. After the end of the confrontation with the Soviet Union, the United States’ interest in this region declined to intensify again in recent years, as the “Russian aviation activity” in Alaska raised the concern of the US Pentagon, which saw that the activity of Russian military aviation in the region reached its highest levels since the end of the Cold War.

The US Air Force is also ramping up its military buildup in the region. Alaska will host the largest fifth-generation fighter jet concentration in the world as more than 50 F-35s and more than 50 F-22s are expected to arrive in Alaska US Air Bases at a time when US General David Kram had stated the US Air Force’s concern about the Russian “Tu-95” strategic bombers making “routine” flights on the shores of Alaska.
